Emergency Assistance for SAG-AFTRA Members Affected by Hurricane Harvey
The people of Texas, particularly Houston, and New Orleans are currently experiencing record floodwaters which have taken lives and continue to cause unprecedented damage in the region. The Federal Emergency Management Agency estimates that, in Houston alone, more than 30,000 people have sought emergency shelter. Harvey, downgraded to a tropical storm, is presently lingering along the southeast coast of the Gulf of Mexico, bringing heavy rains and storms to Louisiana as well.
Your SAG-AFTRA family hopes all members and their families are safe and their homes remain intact. However, for those members who have been affected by the severe flooding, SAG-AFTRA partners are offering emergency assistance to help in this time of need.
If you, or a SAG-AFTRA member you know, have been impacted by flooding in the region, please contact the SAG-AFTRA Foundation emergency assistance department at (323) 549-6773 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Eligibility requirements to qualify for emergency assistance include:
- Active SAG-AFTRA members with total earnings of $15,000 over the last five years.
- SAG-AFTRA members over the age of 55 with 10 years of active membership and $2,000 in earnings for each of those years.
