Well, it was payback time for the branches for their overwhelming support of Melissa Gilbert in the Consolidation referendum and recent election.
As we first reported here on the Ol’ SAG Watchdog, the branches wanted a Constitutional amendment that would change the requirements for Board Service!
The Constitution until last weekend basically stipulated that No Member would be eligible to serve on the board unless that members dues had been paid within 45 days following the current dues period and each dues periods in each of the three consecutive dues periods preceding the period during which the member would serve!
The branches new amendment proposal basically states that No member will be able to serve on the board unless the members dues have been paid on or before the last day of the current dues period/Or run for the board unless dues have been paid on or before the last day of each of the 3 consecutive dues periods preceding the commencement of the term in which the member would be serving!
BOTTOM LINE: UNDER TO THE BRANCH PROPOSAL.MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT BOTHERED TO PAY THEIR DUES ON TIME WILL BE ABLE TO SERVE ON THE BOARD! AND ONCE ON THE BOARD, THEY WILL STILL HAVE UP TO SIX MONTHS TO PAY THEIR DUES!
Well thanks to the support of Melissa’s Restore Respect gangTHEY GOT IT!
That’s right, we will now have FOLKS ON OUR BOARD– WHO ARE NOT EVEN ELIGIBLE TO WORK— making important decisions concerning OUR CAREERS! This from the same “Restore Respect” crowd that WANTS TO HAVE VOTING “QUALIFICATIONS” for up to Eighty Five thousand SAG members who are paid up on their dues!
And why has MELISSA, HER SUPPORTERS AND THE BRANCHES CHANGED OUR CONSTITUTION? Well, it seems the branches have some late dues-paying candidates they want to run in the next election! Candidates that will support Melissa and her gang in their continuing agenda toward the ATA/NATR and Con/Merger!
Oh, by the way, For the Record, The Hollywood Board’s MEMBERSHIP-FIRST MEMBERS—-VOTED AGAINST THIS POLITICAL PAYBACK!
So there you are! A Real Dues-zee, huh?
