SAG-AFTRA exec Duncan Crabtree-Ireland has been named chairman of the Conference of California Bar Associations.
The org installed Crabtree-Ireland, who is chief operating officer and general counsel of SAG-AFTRA, at its annual meeting Saturday in San Diego. The org is comprised of various bar association members from California and aims to serve as a forum for examining legal issues of importance to the Golden State.
“It is truly an honor to lead the Conference of California Bar Associations and to work with its amazing officers, board, and delegates to improve the law and the administration of justice in California. CCBA’s work serving as an educational resource for the profession and the public and promoting professional excellence and respect for the law is incredibly important to the people of California,” Crabtree-Ireland said.
Crabtree-Ireland joined SAG as a counsel in 200o. He was named general counsel of the actors’ union in 2006. He’s known as an advocate for LGBT rights in the entertainment industry, and he serves as a judge pro tem for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
