AFTRA Ends Phase One to undercut SAG Contracts with Sham AFTRA Negotiators!
AFTRA has ended Phase One and has announced that it intends to go after SAG contracts! And who will head their negotiating team of performers who, for the most part, have no stake in these contracts, Roberta Reardon a performer with absolutely no stake in the Primetime TV/Theatrical negotiations.
AFTRA claims that “Most AFTRAns are actors (about 88%)”
So, AFTRA is made up of 88 percent actors, and the best person that they can come up with to head their negotiating committee is Roberta Reardon with NO IMDB credits in regards to the 2008 TV/Theatrical negotiations!
Hmmm, again, Roberta Reardon AFTRA’s Chief Negotiator does NOT HAVE ONE IMDB CREDIT! She does not work these contracts and has no vested interest in their outcome–and this is the leader of the AFTRA group that refused to continue with Phase One, unless it could continue to dominate SAG’s contracts.
It is time for SAG members to stand up for their union and send a clear message to SAG’s leadership that enough is enough. Protect our income and enforce our jurisdiction against those that would destroy our union for their own selfish reasons.
SAG’s Hollywood board is meeting Monday evening, in what is being described as one of the most important in our guilds history. We need to let SAG’s leadership know that we want them to stand up to AFTRA and that we will support them.
There is a petition that we all need to sign. One that makes it clear that we do not want to be sold out by AFTRA–and that we will support our leadership in any measures they may take to protect our livelihoods in this matter.
If you have not signed this petition please do so before it is too late. Just click the following link
